As one of the largest employers in the area we offer a wide range of services across the district including parks and green spaces, community protection, environmental health, planning and customer services to name just a few. 

We are located near to the M1 and most of our sites are on a bus route or are within walking distance of a train station.

It has been agreed that the lowest paid employee would reflect the Living Wage, which sees all employees receive a minimum hourly wage of £8.75. Apprentices are subject to their own pay scale not linked to the Living Wage.

Pensions - When you start work for the Council you will be automatically brought into the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) from the first day of employment. For more information on the pension scheme please go to the Nottinghamshire Pension Fund website.

Learning and development – Your employment will commence with a period of induction, you will meet on a regular basis with your manager/team leader to review your progress throughout your probationary period.  The Council has an annual performance development scheme in place.

Professional Fees – Employees may receive a contribution towards professional fees, this is dependent upon a specified criteria.

Annual Leave – Employees receive a minimum of 29 days annual leave in a full year increasing by 1 day per year up to 34 days after 5 years service. In addition there are 8 public holidays. The leave year starts on the 1st of the calendar month in which you commenced employment with the Council.  Leave is calculated on a pro-rata basis for employees working less than 37 hours per week.

Childcare vouchers -  Eligible working parents are entitled to exchange a proportion of their gross salary for Childcare Vouchers.   The exchanged proportion of the salary is exempt from tax and National Insurance contributions allowing savings to be made on childcare costs.  

Free Parking - The Council provides free parking for all employees.
