Essential Car User Allowance

2 years fixed term contract

You will work alongside the Income Recovery Team to ensure that our service users receive comprehensive advice on how the Welfare Reform Act will impact upon them and their rent.

 With experience of working with the public in a service environment (debt/welfare advice/collection or social housing) you will be able to demonstrate that you are able to deal with sensitive discussions relating to debt and money matters and work with a range of voluntary and statutory agencies. You will keep up to date with changes to policy and legislation and provide support to others.

 It is essential that you have a good understanding of the Welfare Reform Act and detailed welfare benefits knowledge. This role primarily involves visiting tenants in their own homes, maximising income and enable payment of rent.

 You will have excellent communication skills, be competent in the use of spreadsheets and able to maintain excellent record keeping. GCSE Mathematics and English at grades A-C or equivalent, a full valid driving licence and access to a motor vehicle are essential.
