Ashfield District Council has an opportunity available for a Graduate Planning Officer to work within Forward Planning and Development Management sections of Planning & Regulatory Services. Based in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, you will join us on a full time, permanent basis and in return we will offer you a competitive salary of £22,183 - £24,491 per annum plus casual car user payment as necessary.
As one of the largest employers in the area we offer a wide range of services across the district including housing and assets, waste and environment, community protection, environmental health, planning and customer services to name just a few.
The Graduate Planning Officer role
You will be required to assist with the preparation of statutory planning documents and the development and implementation of environmental and other physical and community-based improvement projects, as well as the processing of householder and minor planning applications and associated planning matters.
Our Graduate Planning Officer will alternate every six months, working within in each section.
You will be responsible for carrying out site inspections providing planning advice to the public and writing reports. You will also be a key player in delivering a proactive planning service in the district.

Knowledge of planning policy and legislation are essential to the role. We are looking for a confident and self-motivated professional with excellent communication skills.
